Gifted to me by members of the Ancillary Characters podcast, this all-ages endeavor is a mostly, black and white title that follows an anthropomorphic teddy bear detective in an otherwise typical world. The art style utilizes color on a few elements in the book, including a piece of evidence in the case as well as Detective Honeybear, himself, but otherwise adopts a visual aesthetic of a crime noir story.
In this story, readers are introduced to the cuddly detective as he consults on a case. A dead body was found in an alleyway with no apparent trauma and no witnesses. The present detectives find no evidence to go on, but Honeybear notices a discarded baseball cap. What follows is a series of leads and interviews, with Honeybear seemingly always ahead of those around him to no ones enjoyment.
