I haven’t been great about writing, lately. I’d blame being busy on non-writing things at work (this is true) or being busy at home (this is true) or general malaise about the world (this is also true), but ultimately those are all excuses. I just haven’t created a whole lot lately.
I don’t want to say I’m back on the horse now, but I’m trying to make the time to actually write/create stuff that isn’t just tweets… Though at least one of my tweets was used as the kicker in a New York Times article, so there is that.
Mom, I made it!
Anywho, here’s some actual stuff I created this past week(ish):
How Star Trek: Discovery Created A New Universe Of Costumes
One of the things that kept me very busy at work was launching our Premium Article format, which is basically a more modern looking template for high profile articles. We launched it with a suite of stories about costuming on TV, and I was lucky enough to get to profile Star Trek.
Stranger Things 3 Needs To Introduce Will Byers
Stranger Things 2 was a ton of fun, but they have an interesting problem in Season 3: will they sideline Will, again, or actually use him as part of the team? If so, that changes the dynamic dramatically. Noah Schapp was so good in Season 2, I’m excited to see what they do with him.
11 Classics From The ‘80s That Could Inspire Stranger Things 3
These are some relatively educated guesses, but mostly a way of sneaking in what I think will be the big comic book inspo for Season 3. I actually have another comic book inspo idea I left out of this article that I feel pretty strongly will come to pass, but I’ll save that for another time.
